WHO I AM & PERSONAL REVIEWS
My name is Matthew. I have worked as a personal trainer, both in-person (working for gyms and personally) and online for over a decade. I moved into health coaching when I realized how many modalities affect health; these include corrective and performance based exercises, cardiovascular work, meditation, breath work, thermoregulation, vestibular work (balance), eye training, sleep regulation, diet, and emotional well-being. After working with these training patterns for years, assisting many clients in bettering themselves, I was hit by a car and received a traumatic brain injury. This set me back many years and taught me the mental side to pain, how it can be impossible to find anyone worthwhile in a wellness journey (including doctors), as well as resilience. During my recovery I spent much time delving into psychology, spirituality, and neuroscience (eventually leading me to my degree). I now take take not just a body to brain (afferent) approach to health as most health and wellness professionals, but now I am able to use a brain to body (efferent) approach, which allows me to work with individuals from on a brain based approach, adjusting underlying causes rather than symptoms. Looking at and adjusting the nervous system in heightened (sympathetic) or calming (parasympathetic) state allows me to help lower stress and unlock the body’s full potential. I have found delight in assisting individuals with normal (neurotypical) health, stress and emotional withdraw, injuries (everything from sprains to near full spinal fusions), competitive environments (NCAA sports), and accountability. I look forward to meeting you!
